Our laptop used to shut off from overheating. Now it doesn't. This cooler seems to make the difference. It is not silent, even on low, but it is not too loud to be annoying either. The blinding blue light is a bit annoying. A piece of tape is a two second fix for it though. Overall, this seems to be a good quality product that does keep a laptop cooler.
