I used a Targus cooling pad for the past three years, with no one specific pad lasting longer than a year...so, a waste of money. I finally got fed up and turned to amazon, the reviews on here were extremely helpful. This pad seems extremely durable and I love that it has a high and low setting. It is comfortable when putting it on your lap and very lightweight. Without any sort of cooling pad, my laptop runs so hot, it scalds my lap. With this, I can leave it on for days! It was definitely worth the money. The fact that it doesn't take up your USB port is a big plus, although I personally have 4 and never need them all at one time.
The only drawback is that the power cord is on the left side - but that's not a problem at all, because its symmetrical, so you can just flip it around :)
EDIT: Its been a little over a month and the power cord where it plugs in to the unit is very loose and doesn't stay connected well. It doesn't fall out, the light just turns off and it stops working. Its past the 30 day return policy for Amazon, but I will look and see what I can do - its probably just a defect in my own.Get more detail about Antec USB-Powered Notebook Cooler.
