Save Antec USB-Powered Notebook Cooler

I bought this thing on advice from a friend because my MacBook was overheating when playing flash videos, causing the fans to go into overdrive (For those of you who don't own a MacBook, this sounds like a 747 taking off in the distance). I wasn't convinced that this product would do anything, and after using it for a few weeks, I'm still not.

Here's the problem: the fans accelerate in response to the processor getting too hot. The processor (obviously) is located inside the computer and surrounded by a plastic shell. Blasting this plastic shell with room temperature air does little to cool down the internal components. Hence, the computer still overheats when playing videos. So for a MacBook, this is functionally useless.

That said - I have no idea how this would work on a PC laptop that has fans or vents located on the bottom. Get more detail about Antec USB-Powered Notebook Cooler.
