Keep in mind this is the first device like this I've owned, so some things that are probably relative between devices might be overlooked (such as noise level).
Pro's:
- Does seem to effectively cool
- On high, seems quiet enough. I can tell it is running, but it is not annoying and I'm usually listening to music, so a non-issue for me
- Doesn't look bad (if you're one to care about that)
Con's:
- It is rather tall and since it's not tilted, if you're typing on your laptops keyboard at a desk, it could be potentially uncomfortable for some.
- The USB -> Power cord that comes with it is a bit of a pain on a MacBook (2008 Aluminum case). It comes out of the USB port and has a cord sticking out at a 90 degree turn towards the back of the MacBook. In the rear-most USB port this means your network cable port is blocked. In the front-most USB port this means your rear-most USB port is blocked.
Overall though, it really seems to be accomplishing the main task I got it for, cooling my system. My biggest complaint is the USB cord, but it's something I can live with, although it's the main reason I gave this item 4 stars instead of 5.Get more detail about Antec USB-Powered Notebook Cooler.
