Antec USB-Powered Notebook Cooler Right now

Do you ever wonder why a product is poorly designed when you could have come up with something much better? That's the feeling you'll get when you take a look at this.

It's not that its a bad cooler. It might work well in that function. I won't know because mine is going back untested.

It's the details that all work together to disappoint. The perforated aluminum top is punched with holes with rough edges, so running your hand (or worse, your laptop) across the top will have a nice "cheese grater" effect. The plastic along the outside perimeter and button is of cheap quality and just looks like it won't last. The cord storage area on the bottom looks like a few attempts at opening will break the mechanism; getting the cord out from it is like a game of operation, and if you have big fingers you might find it a bit irritating when you scrape them along the plastic stubs inside. The power cord, as mentioned in other reviews, doesn't appear like it will last very long. A few good bends should break the wire inside nicely.

In all, its disappointing to this result when for the money it could have been much better. But then clearly for this type of device the companies optimize for profit, not quality. That or the owner let their high school-drop-out nephew design it. Hard to tell. Get more detail about Antec USB-Powered Notebook Cooler.
