I own an Acer Aspire 3050 where all the components and heatsinks are toward the middle of the motherboard on the bottom. the heat gets trapped in there where no real place to go.
Running CPU (AMD Mobile sempron @ 1.8 GHz) at full frequency before after 1 hr avgs. 69-75 degrees celsius without notebook cooler
temps with antec notebook cooler on high low-mid 50s. low 60s on load (gaming)
temps taken with rmclock.
For best cooling results, IMO, expose the middle as the cooler (open the middle panel) sucks in the hot air and blows it out.
in all a great solution....the cooler design is great for this type of notebook.Get more detail about Antec USB-Powered Notebook Cooler.
