Bought this item because the heat from our macbook pro 15" was getting pretty uncomforatble when on my lap. I'd usually use a text book, or magazine to deflect it. But eventually those heated up too. I bought the iLap laptop stand 15" and it's great. It's really light weight, and the cusion is a very plush and soft (both wrist and lap guards). The iLap comes with four rubber feet that you put on each corner to keep your macbook from sliding off, even though the macbook already has rubber feet on it, adding these gives it a little clearence between the bottom of the macbook and the stand, figure a little air circulation under there can't hurt. Make sure that the wrist guard is on when you stick these on so that you have the proper spacing. The wrist guard can slide off if you dont want to use it. I dont think the issue other people are having with it coming off unexpected is such a big deal. You could always put some additional velcro on it to stop that. No big deal.
