For those looking for a reasonably priced adapter for their Dell Inspiron 6400, this is the model. There is no reason to pay $50+ when this can be had for around $15. Works with my Dell - with Windows 7 and Windows XP (dual boot). No problem charging the battery. The power cable is shorter (about a foot) than the original Dell version - but not a showstopper. I have been using this adapter for little over a month.
Bottom line - value for money (especially for an older laptop), you cannot go wrong with spending $15.00 (or so) to replace the power adapter.
