I have owned this product for three months and no problems have occurred. My laptop has not over heated, so the cooling pad is doing its job. I am able to use this cooling pad on my lap unlike the cheap cooling pad at walmart. Although my computer is not as cool it was with the cheap cooling pad, no over heating events override that small issue. The construction seems a little flimsy, but the pad has yet to break.
