Sound does not work, because the audio cable is too short. I bought this so that it would reach from the vga connection (left back side of the labtop) to the audio out (right front side). At a length of only 10 1/2 inches, it does not even come close to reaching across. I now have to go out and buy an extention...Get more detail about RiteAV - SVGA Monitor Cable with 3.5mm Audio - 15 ft..
