I bought these to create recovery disks for my new laptop. The first one I inserted in the drive could not be used because it was defective. The second worked. The third was also defective. The next two worked. I have no basis for comparison with other brands but I do not consider two out of five to be acceptable reliability. The only reason I give these 3 stars is because when they work, they are OK. I chose these because they were highly rated.
