I paid too much for my HT800 at Best Buy, but this is still a great product. I have my entire home theater hooked up to this unit (receiver, HDTV, blu ray, DTV HD DVR, Klipsch speakers and sub) and it provides great protection. I get power surges at least 5x a month due to the lightning storms we get out here and the power strip will cut out and safely shut all your equipment down when the surge hits. It has been tested at least 20x since I've had it and never had a product damaged because the HT800 failed to do its job.
