Not compatible with very common digital cameras a parent might already have. Even with a compatible camera, works only intermittently, and when it does work, because you have to change your power settings, your camera battery will just drain while it's transferring the photos from the Eyefi to your computer, so you decide - what is more of a hassle - having to charge your camera battery because it drains out whenever this thing decides to up and work, or having to take out the SD card and upload your pics and videos, with a USB card reader like you did before? The former comes out to be a bigger hassle for me because I can't USE my camera while it's charging. Also the fact that it is inconsistent makes it a real loser (yes have tried to troubleshoot repeatedly on phone and online, tried Mac and PC, no one can tell why it works only sometimes & just want to blame my wifi at my house which actually works fine). I need to just have a system that works the same way every time so I can keep track of everything.
If you're going to eliminate one hassle then you need to make really sure that you're not creating another one of equal or greater value.
