My old KVM was not compatible with Windows 7, and I read the reviews and specs of the available switches before selecting the Trendnet TK-209K. None of the reviews for the TK-209K commented on Windows 7, and the tech specs did not mention it either, so I thought I'd take the chance. It works perfectly with my desktop (Win 7) and my work laptop (XP). The cables from the KVM to the computers are unique, in that there is no separate USB or PS2 cables, but rather the video out cable is siamesed with a single USB cable for both keyboard and mouse, however this works fine. My keyboard is PS2, but it came with a PS2 to USB adapter cable, and it works fine. Set up was pretty straight forward--just followed the set up directions--however, it did take a reboot for my work laptop to recognize the KVM, possibly because of the VPN that runs before Windows boots. I rebooted and skipped the VPN load, and it recognized the KVM no problem. It does take a couple of seconds for the change over to happen, but it is not an excessive delay. The specs do NOT tell you that the TK-209K is USB 1.1 compatible (not 2.0), but that does not seem to have any significance to my using, but I'm not a power gamer.Get more detail about TRENDnet 2-Port USB KVM Switch Kit with Audio (Includes 2x KVM Cables) TK-209K (Blue).
