Low Price 8-Port Bi-Directional Cable TV HDTV Amplifier Splitter Signal Booster with Passive Return Path

I purchased product through Amazon.com. It arrived from Cantex - Waste King Direct in advance of the projected date in new condition. My system uses an older VHF/UHF antenna on the roof to receive HD signals to several TVs. When standard TV transmission stopped we lost a couple of stations, but most of the rest are fairly strong. One station is in a different direction and weaker and sometimes works, but the signal is not reliable. I replaced my passive 4 way splitter and a second two way splitter in a short time. It took me a little longer to patch it into power, but that was also no problem as there are two different options for hookup.

The unit did not dramatically improve my signal as I had hoped, and the digital "meter" readings on the converter box for our primary TV read the same before and after the install. I have, however noticed that the signals are a little more reliable - most particularly on my 3 year old Acer Aspire 5100 laptop runing Vista - where I am using a "PCTV HD Pro Stick" from Pinnacle to watch TV at my desk. The picture on the laptop still "gets behind", but not as badly as it did prior to installing the new splitter - I also don't have the "dropout" issue that there was before - so that is a definite plus. I still need to remove a splitter to our primary TV and Phillips HDD recorder by running another cable from the new active splitter up through the wall to the TV and perhaps that will help more with the primary TV. So far, I have only used up 5 of the 8 ports, so that is good!

Though it didn't make a the dramatic change I had hoped for, I can't blame the splitter and the price from Amazon/Cantex-Waste King Direct was very good - so can't complain!Get more detail about 8-Port Bi-Directional Cable TV HDTV Amplifier Splitter Signal Booster with Passive Return Path.
